Van Alstyne, Texas -- Graveside services for Murkel Rigsby, 83, of Van Alstyne, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Van Alstyne Cemetery. Rev. Rodney Sprayberry will officiate. There will be no formal visitation.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Ferguson, Mark Reynolds, David Staab, Jack Rigsby, Denny Hicks and Dariell Oldfield.
Mr. Rigsby passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Meadowbrook Care Center in Van Alstyne, Texas. He was born February 5, 1930 in Howe, Texas to Mose and Mae Rigsby. Murkel was a retired House Mover.
He is survived by his daughter Sandra Ferguson and husband Dennis of Van Alstyne, daughter, Debbie Neigbors of Van Alstyne, daughter Judy Reynolds and husband Evrett of Van Alstyne, daughter Pam Staab and husband Mitch of Haslett. Brothers, Phil and Johnny Rigsby and a sister, Mickey Hicks. 7 grandchildren, Christy Oldfield, Leslie Daniels, Mark Reynolds, David Staab, Amanda Baxley, Kimberly Ferguson, and Kevin Ferguson. 11 Great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Billy, Ronald, and Evrett Rigsby and a sister, Thomasine Cupit.
The family would like to thank the staff of Meadowbrook Care Center for the love and great care of Mr. Rigsby. In leiu of flowers memorials may be made to the Home Hospice.
