Trophies in 27 classes up for grabs at free May 19 show
Little Elm -- Classic car, truck and motorcycle aficionados will get a chance to strut their rides or enjoy the work of talented restorers at the "Hooked on Classics" auto, truck and cycle show at Little Elm Park on Sunday, May 19, according to Keri Kirkwood, Recreation Coordinator.
"The Hooked on Classics show is a family-oriented event that brings together people with an interest in restoring and showing cars, trucks and motorcycles that still hold a special place in the hearts and minds of lots of fans. It’s a chance to capture a little bit of nostalgia," she said. Little Elm Park is located at 704 West Eldorado Parkway.
Entrance to the show, as well as parking, are free and open to the public. The show opens at 2 p.m. and runs through 6 p.m. Owners of classic cars, trucks and motorcycles who wish to enter their vehicles in the show and become eligible for the competition must register. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. and continues until 4 p.m.
Judging for awards in the 27 classes or categories along with Best of Shows in the major categories will begin at 4 p.m. with trophy presentations set for 5:20 p.m. Registration is $10 per vehicle.
In addition to the car, truck and motorcycle show, rock and roll music, contests, prizes and other fun events are planned. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
"The show will offer a chance for folks who have an interest in restored cars, trucks and motorcycles to demonstrate their work, but it will also serve to bring together those people who admire that type of activity in a safe, family-friendly atmosphere," added Kirkwood.
The show is presented by the Little Elm Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with Mustang Sally Productions. Entries may be registered prior to the show at www.mustangsallyproductions.com.
