Theft - May 8, 1400 Block Silo Rd. Reporting Officer Cpl. Joe Gentry. A call for service was received in reference to a theft that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who advised his motorcycle was gone. Officers observed a screwdriver and ignition parts of the motorcycle in the space the victim advised the motorcycle had been parked in. The victim stated he was inside his apartment and heard his motorcycle start up. He then looked outside and his motorcycle was gone. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the motorcycle. Investigation continuing.
Assault Arrest - May 10, 800 Block Mockingbird Dr. Arresting Officer Ptl. Luke Rattan. A call for service was received in reference to an assault in progress. Upon arrival officers could hear people yelling inside the residence. As officers reached the front door a female victim ran through the door. The victim appeared scared and was crying and shaking. Officers noticed a male subject who appeared to be chasing the victim through the residence. The male subject, who was identified as David Shoemaker, appeared angry and aggressive. The victim advised officers that a verbal altercation took place. The victim then began gathering her belongings when Shoemaker advised her he would kill her before she left him. The victim advised she was scared for her life and locked herself in the bathroom. Shoemaker then kicked open the door and pushed her down on the bathtub causing her to hit her right arm on the faucet, breaking the faucet. The victim advised she then was able to run past Shoemaker and exit the bathroom. She observed Police pull up and ran out the front door to the officers. Officers noticed a large red mark that was already starting to bruise on the victim’s arm. Shoemaker was advised he was under arrest for Assault Causing Bodily Injury (Family Violence).
Arrest - May 14, 1200 Block W. 10th St. Arresting Officer Cpl. Cory Brookshire. A routine traffic stop was conducted for failing to stop at a posted stop sign. Contact was made with the driver and passenger, who was identified as Rickey Fletcher. A routine check for warrants was conducted by Bonham Dispatch, which resulted in an active warrant for Fletcher out of Mobile County Sheriff's Office for Theft by Deception. Fletcher was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrant and a Fugitive From Justice charge was added due to this being an out of state warrant.
