Rock stars, bling, beautiful paintings and drawings, confections, jewelry and more greeted the large crowd during the opening reception of the New Artists Exhibit on Friday, May 10.
The unusual collection evoked many reactions and sales from the patrons who attended.
Many new faces and familiar friends welcomed the 16 new artists who have joined the Creative Arts Center since early last summer. This 25% increase in artist members is a huge vote of support for the gallery and its efforts.
Of note in this exhibit: a guitar constructed by John Simpson and his detailed and expressive posters in colored pencil; a self portrait by Ronald Grant, using coffee and tea as a medium; a radically blinged-out violin and toaster by Tommy Stone and many other fine works of art in various forms.
The exhibit runs through June 4.
