Drugs or alcohol cases dominate grand jury

On Thursday, May 16, 2013, the Fannin County grand jury met to review twenty (20) cases presented for their consideration.  The grand jury returned the twenty (20) true bills or indictments listed below.  Of the new felony charges filed, drugs or alcohol make up 50 percent of the crimes impacting Fannin County.

In the first five months of 2013, a total of 131 new felony cases have been charged in Fannin County. 

It is important to note that an indictment is a formal charge and should not be considered as evidence of guilt and that all persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
