Bonham, Texas -- Funeral service for Jerry Wayne Dodson, 65, of Schertz, Texas, formerly of Bonham, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, TX. Bro. Ricky Robbins, Dennis Lee, and Leonard Gerner will officiate the service; interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery. Mr. Dodson passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at his home in Schertz, TX.

Jerry Wayne Dodson was born on September 27, 1947 in Bonham, Texas to Lloyd Wayne and Doris (Stimpson) Dodson. Jerry graduated in 1966 from Bonham High School where he played basketball and football for the Warriors. He moved to San Antonio, TX in 1972. He served in the National Guard for six years, was a carpenter in construction, and was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by sons- Clint Dodson and wife Nikki of Durant, OK; and Scott Dodson and wife Megan of Charlotte, NC; daughter-Tara Dodson of Schertz, TX; wife- Annette Dodson; father-Lloyd Dodson; grandchildren-Wade, Wyatt, and Charlotte Dodson; sister-Judy Davis of Denison, TX; and brothers-Danny Dodson and wife Debbie of Center, TX; and Ricky Dodson and wife Rummie of Lansing, KS; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Family visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas.
