Accident Involve Damage - June 15, 1600 Block Franklin St. Reporting Officer Ptl. Joshua Cunningham. A call for service was received in reference to a parked vehicle that had been hit overnight. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who advised she parked her car on the side of the street facing north and the vehicle was fine when she last saw it on the evening of 6/14. The victim then advised she went outside this morning and observed her car had been hit sometime during the night. Officers then looked at the vehicle and could tell the front of the vehicle had been badly damaged. Officers observed car parts scattered all over the road and in the ditch. Upon closer inspection of the vehicle, officers noticed paint transfer on the front bumper and scuff marks going down the side of the vehicle. Officers also noticed tire marks from the suspect vehicle that you could see leaving the scene. Investigation continuing.

DWI - June 15, 1400 Block Franklin St. Arresting Officer Ptl. David Johnson. While running stationary radar, officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers also observed the vehicle travel through a parking lot, over a curb and back onto the street. Officers then activated emergency lights to attempt a traffic stop. The vehicle did not immediately yield to the side of the road and continued to travel down the street, disregarding a stop sign before pulling to the side of the road. Contact was made with the driver who was identified as Paul Sanders. Sanders was asked the reason for cutting across the parking lot and going over the curb. Sanders stated he did not remember driving through a parking lot. Officers observed Sanders to have slurred speech, white foam around his mouth and noticed the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. Sanders was having trouble sitting up in the drivers seat while speaking to officers. Sanders was asked to exit the car, which he complied. He was unable to stand on his own and had to use the car or the officers help to stay standing. After completing the investigation, Sanders was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated 2nd and Driving While License Invalid.

Narcotics Arrest - June 16, 700 Block FM 87 N. Arresting Officer Det. William Abbott. While working an event, officers noticed a male subject who is known for distributing narcotics. The male subject entered the building and made contact with an unknown male subject. The two male subjects then immediately entered the restroom. Officers stood just outside the wall to see if an illegal drug transaction would take place. Upon coming around the wall and seeing officers, both male subjects appeared to get nervous. Officers asked consent to search the individuals. Both gave consent. The search of the first male subject met with negative results. During the search of the second male subject, identified as Jose Fuentes, officers found two small clear baggies containing a white powder substance, purported cocaine. Fuentes was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 <1 gram.

Narcotics Arrest - June 18, 100 Block S. 5th St. Arresting Officer Ptl. Luke Rattan. While on routine patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Contact was made with the driver who was identified as Christie Golden. Golden was asked for her driver’s license and it was discovered that she did not have a valid license. Golden was asked to exit the vehicle, which she complied. Golden advised officers she had a pocketknife located in her front pocket. Officers removed the knife for safety and conducted a frisk for any additional weapons. Upon conducting the frisk, officer located a baggy in Goldens right front pants pocket. The baggy contained 4 pills. Golden advised she did not have a prescription and that a friend had given her the pills. The pills were identified and were found to be categorized as a Dangerous Drug. Golden was advised she was under arrest for Driving While License Invalid Previous Convictions and Possession of a Dangerous Drug.
