
Squiers is a former Catholic priest who became a Unitarian Universalist in his first year of seminary. He resigned from the priesthood four years after his ordination and joined his local Unitarian Universalist congregation. He is a member of Pathways UU Church in Hurst and was an off-site delegate to last month’s General Assembly in New Orleans. He lives in Fort Worth with his spouse Jason and three very spoiled cats.
On Wednesday evening the church’s Green Team will meet in the Emerson Room at 7 pm to outline a 2017-2018 strategy for prioritizing projects aimed at making the church campus more Green. Projects such as enhancing current recycling programs; installing rain barrels and fulfilling the criteria for their building to become LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified.
On Thursday the Church’s Shelter Team will prepare and deliver supper to the residents and staff at the Grayson County Shelter. The congregation participates in the area-wide coalition of churches that each prepare a shelter meal once a quarter.
