Tioga -- The Bells Lady Panthers opened the 2018 volleyball season with an impressive three-set win at Tioga.
Bells set the stage with a 25-19 win in the first set and the Lady Panthers followed up with a 25-20 victory to lead the match, 2-0.
Tioga battled back in the third set and the score was tied 24-24 before Bells came through with the final two points in an exciting game to edge Tioga, 26-24, and earn a sweep on the road to start the year 1-0.
Bells senior Alexis Grove slammed down six kills to pace the Lady Panthers on offense.
Cheyenne Floyd, Gabby Smith and Charli Waggoner each had three kills, with Emma Cobb contributing a pair of kills.
Floyd handed out 16 assists and slipped a pair of aces through the Tioga defense. Kennedy Derzapf also had two aces. Isabella Smith had one ace.
Grove and Waggoner each had a block.
The Bells Lady Panthers will compete in the Paris-Chisum Volleyball Tournament.
