David lived an extraordinary life with the love of his life
Michelle Leann (Hodges) Thompson, whom he married on September 27, 2014 in Fannin County. He was an equipment operator for Martin Marietta Materials.

David had many adventures being a barefoot navigator at Pine Mountain Trails. He was an avid hunter with his family and close friends. David always had a smile on his face. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. David was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

He is survived by wife Michelle Thompson of Bonham, TX; son Hunter Thompson of Ector, TX; son Brandon Ryon and wife Colleen of Malakoff, TX; stepson Dustin
Webb and wife Bailey of Tolar, TX; grandchildren Blaise Ryon, Broox Ryon and Davis Webb; mother Joan Robbins and husband Ricky of Bonham, TX; brother
John Thompson of Bonham, TX; sister Christina Halling and husband Cory of St. John; KS; sister Racheal Stewart of Bonham, TX; step brother Rickey Charles
Robbins of Denton, TX; best friend of 50 plus years Tony Gibson and wife Sherri of Bells, TX; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and
friends.

David is preceded in death by his bonus mom (mother-in-law), Gloria Martin, uncles Jack Lehde, David Lehde, and Hershal Lehde, and grandparents John and Leona Lehde.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas. Rev. Tammy Lightfoot will officiate.
Interment will follow at Arledge Ridge Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Thompson, Tony Gibson, Collin Halling, Tanner Halling, Jacob Stewart,
and Damien Welch. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Troy Robertson.
