Jim was born on January 9, 1945 at home in Plainfield, Ohio, to James H. Paris and Mabel Paris. He was one of 9 children. Jim was an Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. He moved to Texas in the early '80s to become owner / operator of Paris Sod and Landscaping, doing what he loved. Jim retired in 2008 to enjoy having cattle and working on his farm.

Jim is preceded in death by his mother, father, 2 sisters and a brother.

He leaves his wife Debbie Paris of the home; children Amy Edge and husband Jeremiah of Honey Grove, Erin Overton and fiancé Josh Gibson of Oklahoma, Billy Allen and wife Chelsea of Honey Grove; 3 children from a precious marriage, Jimmy Paris, Linda Chitty, and Mary; 12 grandchildren, Dusty Nicar, Dustin Mackey, Marissa King, Montana Overton, Kyson Overton, Jaxson Allen,
Kyler Allen, Nova Allen, Myles Allen, Andrew Finney, Gabby Finney, and Bradley Finney; 10 great grandchildren. Jim also leaves behind sisters Norma Backus of Ohio, Doris Cannon of Tennessee, Donna Schmid of Florida and brothers Charlie Paris of Ohio and Stan Paris of Ohio.

Jim will be truly missed by his family.

Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2023 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Honey Grove. Graveside services will be held at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Petty, TX at 2:00 p.m.
