Bonham, Texas -- Join Bonham State Park for the 4th Annual Light Up the Park Event from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13 and Saturday, December 14. Enjoy a dazzling display of holiday lights, courtesy of your local rangers and festive helpers.
This event is a drive-through event, and suitable for the whole family. Entrance fees are $4.00 per adult, but these fees will be waived with the donation of a new (unwrapped) toy, teen gift, or paper goods.
Donations are required to be in the original packaging and will be hand delivered to Bonham’s Fannin County Children’s Center.
Continue the holiday festivities and greet the New Year with a First Day Hike at Bonham State Park on Wednesday, January 1. Join Ranger Linda on a scenic hike through sections of park’s historic areas, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
This trail is of medium difficulty, and hikers can expect to encounter some muddy sections along the way. Dress warmly, bring water, wear sturdy shoes and a smile. Camera, hiking sticks, and binoculars are optional. All individuals, large or small, are welcome to join The First Day Hike challenge. Whether solo, or in groups, stop by
Headquarters throughout the day to log miles hiked, earn a sticker, and to celebrate a great start to the New Year!
Bonham State Park also offers programs throughout the year. Participation is free with the purchase of a daily entrance permit. The standard $4.00 per adult and free for children, 12 & younger, can be purchased online, at the Headquarters, or via our self-pay station (large bulletin board near HQ).
Remember that day-use only and camping permits are limited at Texas State Parks. Book your reservations online up to 5 months ahead for camping and 30 days ahead for day-use only. Check us out on Facebook and our webpage for additional details and dates.
