Dodd City, Texas -- The Dodd City Lady Hornets started fast and finished strong in a 31-point win over the Detroit Lady Eagles at the 2024 Craig Reed Invitational on Friday.

Dodd City junior Addison Weeks hit a quick pair of triples and another basket, and Gracyn Shindler put up two points as the Lady Hornets jumped out to a 10-0 lead.

Dodd City led, 14-2, after the first quarter and opened the second period with another 10-0 run to build a 24-2 lead.

The Lady Hornets were up 31-7 at halftime and 36-13 heading into the fourth quarter.

Dodd City went on a 12-4 run down the stretch to put a 48-17 win in the books.

Addison Weeks led all scorers with 23 points and freshman teammate Gracyn Shindler poured in 18 points. Another freshman, Kendyl Lindsey, had three points.

Tournament play will continue Saturday.
