At the school board meeting on Monday, October 21, 2024, the Bonham Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the recommendation of Bonham High School Principal James J. Branam for the position of Assistant Superintendent. District leaders are confident in their decision to appoint Mr. Branam as Assistant Superintendent due to his extensive experience and undeniable passion for student success.
Mr. James J. Branam is from Coalgate, Oklahoma, and is a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Administration at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
With over 25 years of experience in the educational field, including 17 years as a campus administrator, Mr. Branam has recently served the Bonham ISD community as Principal of Bonham High School for the past
2.5 years.
