Leonard, Texas -- Three days of nonstop basketball action are coming up Thursday, December 26 through Saturday, December 28 at the 62nd Leonard Holiday Tournament.
Girls competition begins at 8:00 a.m. Thursday when Leonard takes on Wolfe City in the high school gym and Honey Grove squares off with Van Alstyne in the junior high gym.
In another match-up of local girls teams, Whitewright will tip-off with Bells at approximately 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
In all, 16 girls teams will compete to see who brings home the big trophy: Leonard, Wolfe City, Prairiland, Palmer, Van Alstyne, Van Alstyne JV, Honey Grove, Whitesboro, Collinsville, Bells, Whitewright, Community, Chisum, Sulphur Springs, Lone Oak and Caddo Mills.
The girls championship game is set for 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
Action in the boys bracket begins at 9:20 a.m. Thursday when Leonard and Trenton take the court.
Sixteen boys teams from Leonard, Trenton, Lone Oak, Caddo Mills, Tom Bean, Life Oak Cliff, Savoy, Whitesboro, Howe, Quitman, Quinlan Ford, Benbrook, Wolfe City, Blue Ridge, Perrin Whitt and Wills Point will vie for the championship.
The boys title game is scheduled to begin at 8:20 p.m. Saturday.
