Dodd City, Texas -- The Dodd City Lady Hornets poured in 32 points in a frenetic first period and coasted to a 44-point win over Excel Christian Academy on Tuesday.
The Lady Hornets had a 32-7 lead going into the second quarter and led 42-9 at the half.
Dodd City went on to outscore Excel Christian 19-8 during the final two periods to post a 61-17 win.
All the Lady Hornets had a hand in this victory. Kayleigh McBrayer deflected seven passes, a team-high. Gracyn Shindler led all players with seven steals. Addison Weeks continued her torrid scoring streak with a game-high 29 points to go along with the junior's eight rebounds. Dodd City freshman Kendyl Lindsey had an outstanding performance with eight points and six rebounds. Ralyn Daniels, a sophomore on this young team, put up two points, pulled down a pair of rebounds and dished off two assists. Caroline Lackey, another sophomore, handed out two assists.
The Dodd City Lady Hornets (9-4) will host Van Alstyne on Friday, December 20, with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
