Bonham, Texas -- After over three years of serving more than 300 residents, construction has officially begun on a new Open Arms Shelter at 111 South Center Street in Bonham, Texas. This exciting milestone is made possible through funding provided by the Fannin County Hospital Authority.

The new 7,780-square-foot facility will continue to provide hope, encouragement, and shelter to individuals and families in need—focusing on offering a “hand up, not just a handout.”

In addition to serving as a short-term shelter helping residents achieve self-sufficiency, the building will house essential services like the Fannin Health Clinic and the WIC Nutrition Program. These programs will be available to both shelter residents and the wider Fannin County community, further enhancing access to critical healthcare and nutrition resources.

The Open Arms Shelter operates through the generous support of individuals, businesses, churches, and organizations across Fannin County. This new facility marks a significant step forward in the community’s commitment to helping neighbors in need.

Stay tuned as this vital project progresses, continuing to serve as a beacon of hope for Fannin County!
