Bonham, Texas -- Annie Medcalf flew away home on Dec. 19, 2024 in Paris, Texas surrounded by friends and family. She passed peacefully after a brief illness.

Annie was born on Sept. 28, 1934 to Willie and Sarah (Kenyon) Rigsbay. She married the love of her life, Leon Medcalf, on June 1, 1951. Two children were born to this union, Wanda and Jesse.

Leon died unexpectedly on Jan. 16, 1981 at the young age of 63. After his death, Annie married Robert Garrett. Their home was the happy meeting ground of a large, extended, and blended family.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon Medcalf; husband, Robert Garrett; son, Jesse Medcalf; granddaughter, Rachel Medcalf Roberts; great
grandson, Tyler Roberts; brothers, Bill and Joe Rigsbay; and sisters, Lois Ulch, Linda Hawthorne, and Estelle Graham.

Annie is survived by daughter, Wanda Oliver (husband, David); daughter-in-law, Patti Medcalf; granddaughters, Shannon (wife, Cristi) and Keller Holmes; grandsons, Nathan and Eric (wife, Lisa) Medcalf; sisters, Gerry Monolo (husband, Reno) and Ethel Woodson; brothers, Cail Isaac (Jackie) and Albert Rigsbay; and a trove of beloved great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was treasured by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. The family is especially grateful for the loving care Annie received from Paris Healthcare Center
and Heart to Heart Hospice.

Visitation for Mrs. Medcalf will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Boham, TX beginning at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2024 in Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home, Bonham, Texas. Bro. Jimmy Tuggle will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Medcalf, Eric Medcalf, Kaleb Medcalf, Joshua Medcalf, Ethan Medcalf, and Christopher Roberts.
