Fannin County grand jury concludes year with a total of 227 new cases

Fannin County, Texas -- Fannin County Criminal District Attorney Richard Glaser reports that on Thursday, December 19, 2024, the grand jury met and reviewed evidence in seven cases. This grand jury returned seven (7) true bills or indictments listed below. The Fannin County grand jury has returned 227 true bills on indictment in 2024.

It is important to note that an indictment is a formal charge and should not be considered a evidence of guilt and that all persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

The following people were indicted for the criminal offense and range of punishment indicated:

Lackey, Dean - Theft $150,000 or more but less than $300,000, 09/29/2021, 5-99 Years or Life + $10,000 fine

Rigler, Michael - Theft $150,000 or more but less than $300,000, 09/29/2021, 5-99 Years or Life + $10,000 fine

Self, Allen - Theft $150,000 or more but less than $300,000, 09/29/2021, 5-99 Years or Life + $10,000 fine

Stimmel, Anne - Theft $150,000 or more but less than $300,000, 09/29/2021, 5-99 Years or Life + $10,000 fine

A new grand jury for the January-June 2025 term was impaneled and sworn in by Judge Laurine Blake of the 336th Judicial District Court on Friday, December 20, 2024. Their first meeting will be January 23, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
