Dodd City, Texas -- In the final tune-up before district competition begins, the Saltillo Lions slipped by the Dodd City Hornets, 38-35, in a contest played Friday afternoon at Dodd City High School.

Saltillo had a 10-9 advantage after the first quarter and the Lions still had a one-point lead, 20-19, at halftime.

Saltillo managed to outscore Dodd City, 18-16, in the second half to give the Lions a three-point win, 38-35.

The Dodd City Hornets will host Fannindel on Friday, January 10, 2025, for the District 19-1A opener.
