Meals on Wheels Texoma prioritizes the safety of both our participants and the dedicated volunteers who deliver meals daily. Due to anticipated winter weather and hazardous driving conditions, we are suspending home-delivered meal services on Thursday, January 9 and Friday, January 10, 2025. While we strive to deliver hot, freshly prepared meals every day, ensuring the safety of our drivers in dangerous weather conditions must also remain a top priority.
In preparation for this weather event, we have provided all home-delivered meal recipients with Emergency Meal Kits containing three shelf-stable meals. These kits are intended for situations such as this, where inclement weather makes daily deliveries unsafe. We kindly ask recipients to use these emergency meals on the days deliveries are suspended.
Given the unpredictability of winter weather, our team is closely monitoring local conditions. We will communicate any updates regarding service suspensions or resumptions as they become available. Normal daily deliveries will resume as soon as road conditions are deemed safe for our volunteer drivers.
We deeply appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we balance our commitment to providing nutritious meals with the need to protect the volunteers who make this possible. Please stay safe and warm during this period.
