Bonham, Texas -- If you don't absolutely have to go somewhere today....then don't!

That is probably the best advice as one of the heaviest snowfalls in recent years blankets North Texas. Icy conditions exist on most Farm-to-Market roads, county roads and city streets. Traction is much better on heavily traveled U.S. 82.

Bands of snowfall during the evening and night will continue to add to measurements. North of Bonham, five inches of snow had fallen at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

The slush is likely to freeze Thursday night, resulting in patches of ice and making driving conditions even more treacherous early Friday morning.
