Sherman, Texas -- Bessie L Bingham, formerly of Sadler, TX passed away at age 79 at Pecan Point Assisted Living in Sherman, TX on January 12, 2025.
Bessie was born on June 1, 1945, in Albany, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bingham, her parents – Paul and Ruby Brown, along with 8 siblings – Mary Gibbons, Kathleen Gibbons, Christine Cook, Roy Brown, Willard Brown, Bill Brown, Keith Brown, Eugene Brown, and Garland Lee Brown.
Bessie was raised in Kentucky where she treasured memories of growing up in a large family with her fondest memories spent cooking with her sisters and singing gospel hymns.
Bessie worked for 20+ years at Grayson County College where she took pride in her work providing a clean learning environment for students and staff. Edward and Bessie were members of Hagerman Baptist Church. Bessie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Survivors include her son, Eddie Bingham, and wife Karen; daughter, Cassa Bingham Melson, and husband Jack Melson; grandchildren Grant Bingham and wife Brooke and Erin Coulter and husband Nicholas; great-grandchildren Julie and Justin Bingham; and siblings Jim Brown, Pauline Keown, Rick Brown, and Susie Brown.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pecan Point Assisted Living for their love and care for Bessie in her final years, as well as members of Hagerman Baptist Church for their prayers, cards, and visits.
A graveside service will be held for family members and friends on Friday, January 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Sadler Cemetery. Pastor Neal Alexander will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hagerman Baptist Church VBS fund.
