Durant, Okla. – The third concert of the 2024-25 season of the Musical Arts Series at Southeastern Oklahoma State University will feature the piano duo of Sangmi Lim and Dino Mulić at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, in the Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Building. Admission is free.
The 52nd Season of the Musical Arts Series is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts, Oklahoma Arts Council, Steger Piano Institute, and the Clark and Wanda Bass Foundation.
Lim and Mulić’s performance will feature pieces by Josip Magdić, Samir Fejzić, Boris Papandopulo, and Dominic Dousa. Visual imagery for the performance is provided by Daewon Kim.
Dr. Sangmi Lim, an internationally recognized pianist from the Republic of Korea, is known for her work as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative pianist. She holds advanced degrees in Piano Performance from Ewha Womans University and Michigan State University, and has performed with renowned orchestras including the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra, Jackson Symphony Orchestra, and Algeu Symphony. Lim has performed globally in prestigious festivals such as the Renaissance Festival in Italy and the Sarajevo Chamber Music Festival. Currently, she serves as a collaborative pianist at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and as a faculty member at New England Music Camp.
Dr. Dino Mulić, a Yamaha Artist from Sarajevo, is an accomplished pianist, educator, and advocate for new music. Born during the Bosnian war, Mulić has performed in over 10 countries and is passionate about music education and community building. He founded the Sarajevo Chamber Music Festival and co-directs Piano Celebration Week at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, an annual event that has significantly impacted the regional piano community. Mulić is also an Associate Professor at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and teaches at the New England Music Camp.
Daewon Kim, an award-winning filmmaker, animator, and editor, creates immersive visual experiences that explore profound truths about reality. His work has been featured in prestigious international film festivals. Holding a Master of Fine Arts degree from San Francisco State University, Kim is currently an Assistant Professor of Film at Oakland University, where he fosters creativity and innovation in the next generation of filmmakers.
Together, these artists bring diverse and exceptional expertise to their respective fields, shaping the future of music and film with their unique talents and dedication.
