Kaleidoscope Park in Frisco to host Groundhog Day event
Jan 30, 2025
Frisco, Texas – Kaleidoscope Park, the 5.7-acre signature park in Frisco, will host its inaugural Groundhog Day celebration on Sunday, Feb. 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The free, all-ages event will commemorate the annual prediction of whether winter is here to stay or if spring is on the way. Festivities will include themed arts and crafts activities, delicious treats, and a photo station to snap selfies with Kaleidoscope Karla, the Park’s honorary groundhog mascot.
Visitors can meet and take photos with Kaleidoscope Karla at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. in the Performance Lawn. The photo station will also feature a variety of fun props for guests to pose with.
The celebration will offer three interactive DIY stations where children can design top hats, create custom groundhog masks, and take Polaroid photos to frame and decorate as keepsakes.
The Park will have a selection of warm beverages and food available for purchase, providing the perfect complement to a winter outing. Families, friends, and even furry companions are encouraged to dress in Groundhog Day attire, from top hats and bow ties to long coats.
“We’re thrilled to bring this joyful Groundhog Day celebration to Kaleidoscope Park,” said Executive Director Shawn Jackson. “As a new community destination, we’re committed to creating traditions that offer free and accessible experiences for North Texas families to enjoy.”
The Groundhog Day celebration marks the beginning of a robust calendar of programs planned for Kaleidoscope Park in 2025. Visitors can find a full list of upcoming events and activities on the Kaleidoscope Park website.
