Bonham, Texas -- For almost a quarter of a century, Creative Arts Center has been the cultural hub of Fannin County and that was most evident this past weekend when the popular arts center hosted a reception for its Black History Month Art Show on Friday and opened up Saturday morning for its annual Sweets, Hearts & Sparkles shopping event focused on Valentine's Day.

On Friday night, the theme was Black History Month: Celebrities Who Paved the Way! Bethlehem Baptist Church presented a program at 5:30 p.m. and then guests visited while they perused an impressive display of artwork created by a variety of gifted artists in the community.

Every year, Creative Arts Center joins forces with Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bonham for a presentation to honor Black History Month. Visitors stopped by from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday evening to admire the creations from a community of talented local artists who have found a welcome home at the arts center.

On Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m., the Creative Arts Center's doors swung open wide for its annual Sweets, Hearts and Sparkles shopping extravaganza in anticipation of Valentine's Day. Vendors filled the indoor galleries and this was one of the popular stops during the citywide I Love Bonham Shopping Stroll on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. as shoppers took advantage of gorgeous weather to stroll around the historic downtown of one of the oldest towns in Texas.
