Austin, Texas -- Today, Speaker of the Texas House Dustin Burrows released committee assignments for the 89th Legislature.

Representative Shelley Luther is excited to announce her appointment to the following critical committees:

• Intergovernmental Affairs

• Trade, Workforce, and Economic Development

The biennial 140-day session will end on June 2, but bills must be voted out of committee by mid-May.

“As a representative from rural Texas, I am excited to serve on Intergovernmental Affairs, where I can provide oversight and partnership to Texas counties, cities, and small towns, while fighting for the rights of local taxpayers," said Rep. Luther. "I am also excited to lend my experience as a small business owner to be a champion for free markets and hard working Texans on the Trade, Workforce, and Economic Development Committee."

These appointments reflect the confidence House Leadership has in Luther's battle-tested experience in restraining government and supporting freedom and prosperity in Texas.
