Llano, Texas -- Bobby George "Hoss" Stuart passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, while residing at Arbor House Memory Care in Marble Falls, Texas where Alzheimer's took his life.
Bobby was born on December 6, 1942, in Sweetwater, Texas and grew up in Roby and Honey Grove, Texas. Parents were George and Thelma Stuart who proceeded him in death. Also proceeding him are sister, Louise Merritt, and brother and sister-in-Law, Joe and Sandy Stuart.
He graduated from Honey Grove High School in 1961 where he was a four-year letterman in football and track and a three-year letterman in basketball. Bobby played football at Paris Junior College for one year, transferring to Howard Payne University to continue playing football and graduating in 1965. He earned his master's degree from Sam Houston State University in 1974.
Bobby started his coaching career as an assistant football coach at Brookshire Royal High School in 1965. After the second year he became athletic director and head football coach. In 1975 Bobby left Brookshire Royal High School to become athletic director and head football coach at Waco Robinson High School. In 1983, Bobby accepted the athletic coordinator and head football coach at Alief Hastings High School where he coached for 20 years before his retirement in 2003.
In 2004, Bobby was inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor.
He is survived by his wife, Kay, of 33 years (12-21-91); sister, Betty Stephenson; brother-in-law, Paul Merritt; children, Janice Harvey (Mike) and Jill Bartels (James); bonus sons, Kevin Pierpoint (Aaren) and Brandon Pierpoint (Ashley); grandchildren, Amanda Harvey (fiancé Brandon Champion), Allison Harvey, Dylan Robinson and Blake Robinson; bonus grandchildren, Mackenzie Turnbill (Brady), Hunter Pierpoint, Bailey Pierpoint, Payton Pierpoint, Lily and Riley Cunningham, Skyler and Sydney Bartel; and great-grandson, Beau Champion will be arriving in July.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers: Lynn Etheridge, Leon Combs, LeRoy Crumb, Lynn Parker, Nathan Barrier, Mike Steelman.
The Celebration of Life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22 at Lutie Watkins United Methodist Church 800 Wright Street in Llano, Texas.
