Bonham, Texas -- On March 12 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., stop by the Sam Rayburn House State Historic Site to see horses and Polled Herefords! The people at Doyle Hereford Ranch and Kimball Ranch have graciously agreed to bring these animals to our site for you to experience, just like you might have seen if you needed to speak to Mr. Sam at his home all those years ago. The Bonham Public Library will also join us! We’ll be playing Blind dominoes during this event as part of our Domino Days program. This event is free to attend.

Tours of the Sam Rayburn House will be available, but cost regular admission and occur on the hour from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. We’ll have another day of dominoes on March 15 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Lindsay Stroup will be leading a Stitching Circle on March 22 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. and have two sample patterns for participants to choose from – an outline of Texas with bluebonnet (beginner), and our donkey Stinky with a flower crown (intermediate). This class costs $10, all supplies are provided, and registration is required. Contact Lindsay at Lindsay.Stroup@thc.texas.gov to register and select your pattern!

The Sam Rayburn House is located at 890 W. State Hwy 56 in Bonham, TX. This is our 50th year as a museum! Contact us at (903) 583-5558 or email Margo.McCutcheon@thc.texas.gov with any questions you have about our programming or how to take a tour of this amazing site that one of the most powerful political figures of the 20th century called home.
