Bonham, Texas -- As of March 3, 2025, the Fannin County Children’s Center proudly welcomes Stephanie Garcia as its new Executive Director.

A longtime resident of Fannin County, Stephanie pursued her higher education at Paris Junior College before transferring to Dallas Baptist University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Sociology and Biblical Studies in December 2007.

Immediately after graduation, she began her career with the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) in 2008 as a conservatorship worker in Dallas County.

During this time, Stephanie balanced her professional growth with furthering her education and starting a family. She married her high school sweetheart in 2009, completed her master’s degree in counseling from Dallas Baptist University in 2010, and welcomed her daughter and son in 2011 and 2012. After moving back to Fannin County, she continued her work with DFPS as a conservatorship worker for Fannin and Grayson counties while also mentoring new hires in the field.

In 2019, Stephanie was promoted to supervisor, continuing her service in Fannin and Grayson Counties. By 2022, she advanced to CPS Program Director, overseeing child welfare services in Fannin, Hunt, Grayson, and Collin Counties. Most recently, she played a crucial role in DFPS’ transition to community-based care, serving as the Permanency Director for EMPOWER, the Single Source Continuum Contractor (SSCC), where she provided leadership and support across multiple counties.

Throughout her career, Stephanie has been recognized for her dedication to leadership and her ability to nurture and guide her teams.

Passionate about advocating for children and families, Stephanie has dedicated 17 years to child welfare, ensuring that those in need have a voice. Having worked closely with the Fannin County Children’s Center in various capacities throughout her career, she is thrilled to step into this new role as Executive Director.

Stephanie looks forward to bringing her knowledge, experience, and unwavering commitment to the Fannin County Children’s Center and the community it serves. She is dedicated to upholding the center’s mission and values as she leads the organization into the future.

The Fannin County Children’s Center will host a Meet and Greet for the community March 20, 2025, from 4:00-6:30 p.m.
