Whitewright, Texas -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials have announced an upcoming new traffic signal in Whitewright at the US 69/SH 11/SH 160 intersection.

The intersection is currently an all-way stop with the signals flashing red in each direction. The new traffic signal will be fully activated to signal mode on Tuesday, March 4.

Message boards are in place on US 69 and SH 160 to alert the public about the upcoming change.  Message boards will remain in place for a week after the change to full activation to help with advanced notification.

This safety enhancement is aimed at better alerting drivers to stop at this location and proceed through the intersection when it is safe. Drivers are urged to use caution in this area as traffic adjusts to the new configuration.
