Fannin County, Texas -- Imagine a simple clay bowl on the table, its surface rough and unpolished. It is empty, its hollow center, a quiet reminder of the pain and silence many carry within. But this bowl, though unfilled, holds potential. Just like the survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, it too has endured the weight of life’s hardships- unseen, unnoticed, perhaps even dismissed. Yet, with time, care, and attention, it can become something more.
At Fannin County Family Crisis Center, the bowl is more than just a piece of pottery. It is a symbol of resilience, of the power of support and healing. The survivors, like the clay, show up raw and fragile. But with guidance, resources, and services offered, they too, can be transformed.
Fannin County Family Crisis Center helps to fill the bowl with hope, strength, and the belief that survivors are not alone. The bowls need many hands; those to mold it, those to paint it, and those to fire it. Like the bowl, survivors need many resources to heal. With the help of volunteers, donors, artists, and community members, Fannin County Family Crisis Center can provide resources such as therapy, Women’s Empowerment, parenting classes, and other support unique to each survivor’s story.
To help ensure that survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault receive the critical services needed, we are asking our community to come together. We invite you to be a part of a survivor’s healing journey. Together our community is stronger.
