Bonham, Texas -- Mary Katherine "Kay" Howard entered her heavenly home on March 24, 2025, in Bonham, TX at the age of 77. She was born on July 18, 1947, to Jack and Margaret (Ivey) Nichols in Leonard, TX.

Kay, also known as the honorary "Mayor" of the family, is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Tommy Howard, stepdaughter Tricia Person, and grandson Kristopher Person. She was a beloved sister to Jaxine Watterson and husband Carl of Bonham, TX. Brothers David Nichols and wife Shelly of Dodd City, TX. Butch Nichols, and wife Tammy of Bonham, TX.  Her legacy will continue on through her nieces La Shell Garcia, husband Tony, Stacy Nichols, and Jeff. Her nephew John Nichols, wife Sherrie. Great nephews Dylon Garcia and Jenna, Tyler Lackey and wife Krista. Great nieces Carlee Garcia, Raigan Nichols, and Colton. Great- great-nieces Landree Lackey and Sawyer Anderson.

Mrs. Howard was a devout Christian woman who was a lifelong member of Edhube Baptist Church.

Kay is proceeded in death by her loving parents, Jack and Margaret (Ivey) Nichols.
