Bonham, Texas -- Paul Holland Holt, a dedicated law enforcement officer and father, passed away on March 18, 2025, at the age of 67 after an extended battle with renal disease.

Throughout his life, Paul exemplified service, commitment, and compassion both in his professional career and personal relationships.

Born in the Philippines to John. B. and Margaret Ann Buster Holt, Paul found his calling in law enforcement, a path that would define much of his life’s purpose. He served with distinction in police departments across Texas and Oklahoma, ultimately being elected Constable of Fannin County Precinct 1, where he continued to protect and serve is community with unwavering dedication.

Paul found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a die-hard Texas Rangers fan, following the team with passionate dedication and never missing a chance to
catch a game or discuss the ins and outs of the sport and team he loved.

Music was a consistent companion for Paul. His record collection spanned various genres from comedy to gospel to contemporary. Many of his longest drives
across the metroplex were made less taxing by his favorite albums.

Paul also loved to laugh. Whether he was cracking silly jokes, pulling good-natured pranks, quoting his favorite comedy movies, or sharing stories from the improve and
stand-up comedy shows he enjoyed, he never missed a chance to bring others in on the joke.

Paul was proud of his role as a father, grandfather and brother. He is survived by his children Kate Boyd and her husband Daniel, Kelsey Holt, and John Holt; his grandchildren Charlotte and Maisie; and his brother Mike Holt, sister-in-law Anne, and their children Steven, Chris, and Allison, and his brother Steve.

Paul’s legacy is one of service, love, and commitment. He dedicated his life to protecting others, approaching his worn not as just a job, but as a calling. His colleagues remember him as a steadfast officer, his family remembers him as a loving father and grandfather, and his community remembers him as a true public servant.

A memorial service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held 10:00 a.m. April 12, 2025, at First Congregation Church in Bonham, 1204 N. Hwy 121, Bonham, Texas. In lieu
of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Peace Officers Memorial Foundation.
