There’s no place like Theater For Hope
and The Wizard of Oz
this summer!

Sherman, Texas -- Theater For Hope is getting ready for their auditions Monday and Tuesday, May 26 and 27 for their July 17,18,19 production of The Wizard of Oz.  Auditions will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. held at North Park Baptist Church located at 2605 Rex Cruse Drive in Sherman, TX.

There are parts for a wide age range of auditioners from age 9 to adults.  Character parts include: Dorothy, Toto, the Cowardly Lion, Tinman, Scarecrow, Aunt Em, Uncle Henry, Wicked Witch, Glinda, Wizard, Munchkins, Ozians, Flying Monkeys, Winkies, as well as a loft choir.
This RSC musical production of The Wizard of Oz is based on the classic motion picture which was adapted from L. Frank Baum’s book written and published 125 years ago.  It contains the music and lyrics of Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg with background music by Herbert Stothart.  Theater For Hope is producing The Wizard of Oz with the permission of Concord Theatricals.  Theater For Hope is excited to have Noteworthy Repairs of Sherman as the production sponsor.
 
Directors for Theater For Hope’s summer production include: Webster Crocker, Tom Bryson as vocal and orchestra director, and Leandra Williams choreographer.  Tina Ross and Hisae Shaw will be costuming the show with the assistance of Shelley Shurtleff and the Art Club Studio.
