Honey Grove, Texas -- The Honey Grove Warriors jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first inning and continued to pull away for a 17-2 win over the Dodd City Hornets.

Dodd City's Weldon Garner had the Hornets' only hit in the game and drove in one run. Brody Lappin also had an RBI.

Gavin Shindler and Riley Walker scored for Dodd City.

For Honey Grove, Austin Freeman went 2-for-2 and drove in four runs. Brody Mahan and Kendal Wolfe both had three RBIs.

The Hornets (4-12, 4-9) will travel to Whitewright on Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
