The Dodd City Hornets had 11 of their 12-member squad qualify for the UIL Region 3 Championships on Friday / Saturday, April 18-19, at Waco's Midway High School. 

The boys Hornet 4x200m relay team (freshman Brody Lappin, juniors Gavin Shindler & Cash Crossland, and senior Gus Lillie) qualified after a 4th place finish in the area round at Miller Grove High School last week.  Junior Aiden Helms will compete in the long jump and sophomore Aiden Nietupski in the 110 meter hurdles.

The Dodd City Lady Hornets qualified their 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams (freshman Gracyn Shindler, sophomore Kayleigh McBrayer, and juniors Cierra & Cheyenne Johnson) to regionals after first place finishes at Miller Grove for the Area Champions Relay Title.  Cheyenne Johnson will compete in the 100m dash for her 2nd place finish effort at the area meet.  Cierra Johnson and Gracyn Shindler in the 200m dash. Johnson placed 1st and Shindler 3rd at area. Senior Lillie Goodwin will compete in the 300m hurdles.  In the field events, Kayleigh McBrayer will compete in long jump and Gracyn Shindler in triple jump.
