Whitewright, Texas -- The Dodd City Hornets started the scoring with four runs in the top of the first inning, but the Whitewright Tigers monopolized the scoring for the remainder of the game to post a 17-4 victory.

Maddox Lappin and Weldon Garner both had a pair of hits for Dodd City. Brody Lappin and Cash Crossland collected one hit apiece.

Clayton Jones led Whitewright with two hits and three runs batted in. Nick Ulmer also had a pair of hits.

Dodd City (4-13, 4-10) will travel to Collinsville next Tuesday night for a 6:30 p.m. game.

The Hornets' final district game of the year will be April 25 at 6:30 when Dodd City hosts Ector to decide the first seed from this district for the playoffs. The game with Ector will also be Senior Night at Dodd City.
