Collinsville, Texas -- The Collinsville Pirates posted an 11-1 win over the Dodd City Hornets on Tuesday.
After a scoreless first inning, Collinsville went up 2-0 in the second stanza, added three runs in the third inning and picked up another three runs in the fourth frame as the Pirates slowly pulled away for a 10-run win.
Maddox Lappin went 1-for-3 and drove in the Dodd City run.
Brody Lappin and Gavin Shindler had one hit apiece for the Hornets.
Dodd City (4-14, 4-11) will host Ector at 6:30 p.m. Friday for the District 1A Championship, and it will decide who will go into the playoffs as the #1 seed. It will also be Senior Night for Dodd City.
The Hornets have three seniors this year. Maddox Lappin, Cayden Lappin and Weldon Garner. The seniors' parents will get to throw out the first pitch of the game.
