Bonham, Texas -- Bobbie Jean Edwards Shields, 61, was born June 27, 1963, in Dallas, TX and passed away at home May 11, 2025, surrounded by family in Bonham, Texas. She married the love of her life, Keith Shields, in 1988. They had two sons, Todd Shields and Eli Shields.

Bobbie Jean is survived by her parents, Bob and Faye Edwards of Bonham, TX.  Two sons, Todd Shields and Eli Shields of Bonham, TX.  Sister Tina McKenzie husband, Ricky of Bonham, TX.  Brother Albert Edwards, wife Jai, of Kemp, OK.  Brother Mike Edwards, wife Nicole, of Bailey, TX.  Grandsons, Jaxxon, 13 and Jacen, 8 of Bonham, TX.  Several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her husband Keith Shields. Her maternal grandparents Wilson and Gladys Baker and her paternal grandparents, Albert and Agatha Edwards. 
Bobbie Jean graduated from Bonham High School, Class of 1981.  She then graduated from Clarendon College with her beautician license.  She then went on and attended Grayson Junior College and graduated with her LVN license. 

Bobbie Jean spent the last several years with Outreach as a home health nurse, taking care of her patients.  This came naturally to her since her nature was to take care of others.

She loved God and her family fiercely and she will be dearly missed.  She was a cherished daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many.  Known for her kindness, love and sweet spirit.  Bobbie Jean loved to make people happy and see them smile.  She loved to give them gifts of their favorite food, snacks, or other trinkets.

Memorial service for Bobbie will be at Gober Baptist Church Saturday, May 24, 2025. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the service to follow.

In lieu of flowers Bobbie Jean requests that memorials be made to Gober Baptist Church building fund.
