Sherman, Texas -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials have announced an upcoming full closure of the northbound main lanes of US 75, beginning at Exit 65. The closure is scheduled from 9:00 p.m. on June 1, until 5:00 a.m. on June 2, to facilitate the demo of the existing Spur 503 southbound to eastbound flyover bridge.

Northbound traffic will be merged down to a single lane just north of Fallon Drive and fully diverted at Exit 65 towards FM 691. Detoured traffic will continue along the frontage road and continue around onto eastbound Katy Memorial Expressway. Drivers will then take the U-turn to head westbound on the Katy Memorial Expressway frontage road, which will guide them back toward US 75. They will then re-enter US 75 at the next available entrance ramp.

During this period, TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, car audio or navigation systems. TxDOT also asks drivers to remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
