Sherman, Texas -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials have announced an upcoming full closure of the northbound main lanes of US 75, beginning at Exit 65. The closure is scheduled from 9:00 p.m. on May 29, until 5:00 a.m. on May 30, to facilitate placing deck panels on the new US 75 overpass.
Northbound traffic will be merged down to a single lane near the Fallon Drive bridge and fully diverted at Exit 66. Detoured traffic will pass through the FM 691 intersection and use the next available entrance ramp just north of the intersection to continue back to US 75 North Bound.
During this period, TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, car audio, or navigation systems. TxDOT also asks drivers to remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
