Sherman, Texas --  The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials have announced two upcoming full closures of the southbound main lanes of US 75, beginning at Exit 63 (US 82). The closure is scheduled from 8 p.m. on June 1, until 5 a.m. on June 2. And again at 8 pm on June 2, until 5 am June 3, to facilitate the removal of an overhead sign bridge and a portion of bridge deck for the traffic switch for the next phase of construction.

Southbound traffic will be detoured at Exit 63 onto the southbound Sam Rayburn Expressway. Motorists should continue south along the frontage road, bypassing the work area on the mainlanes, and re-enter US 75 using the next available entrance ramp.

During this period, TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, car audio, or navigation systems. TxDOT also asks drivers to remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
