Dallas, Texas -- McKinney baseball fans certainly got their money's worth in this series as they watched their Bulldogs win back-to-back extra-inning thrillers to sweep Midlothian and punch their ticket to the state semifinals.
Midlothian jumped out to a 1-0 led in the top of the first inning and neither team could light up the scoreboard until McKinney North brought a runner home in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game, 1-1.
After a scoreless seventh inning, McKinney North's Gage Bradley scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth to send the Bulldogs to the Class 5A final four.
McKinney North's Cade Antosca and Brady Shelton both went 3-for-4, while Cohen Broussard, Aiden Vensel and Brooks Nelson all had one hit apiece.
Broussard and Nelson came through with clutch RBI's in the low-scoring affair.
Cameron Busch pitched 2.2 innings before Austin Sayman came on in relief to go 5.1 innings and get the win.
McKinney North advances to face the winner of Aledo/Colleyville in the state semifinals.
