Ector, Texas -- Ector community members came together for a great time in HG Dulaney Park on May 10, 2025 for the inaugural Mayfest Community Appreciation Event, organized by Ector Beautification Association.
With over 150 visitors, including dozens of of children, Ector’s community park was filled with smiles. Appetites were satisfied by free hamburgers and hotdogs provided by the generous folks at Credit Union of Texas, whose food truck was a delight. Children’s smiling faces were adorned with fun face paintings provided by Vicki Bellows of Little Nonnie’s Bakery.
There were a lucky few that won prize-filled baskets given as door prizes, but no hands left empty thanks to Woodland’s Place Rehabilitation providing goodie bags and free products.
To make the afternoon even more entertaining Lonestar Animal Sanctuary brought exotic animals, including a parrot, monkey and wallaby!
The humming of classic car engines came to the park thanks to Red River Valley Car Club whose members arrived in classic cars and trucks for the kids and adults alike to enjoy looking at and taking pictures with.
It was great to see so many Ector community members get together for some good spirited fun. The children ran all over the park, played on the playground and played games provided by American Legion Post 283.
The giant inflatable bounce house, provided by Apex Construction and Illumination, captured the kids’ attention for hours on end.
Thank you to all the Ector community members that attended and thank you to the sponsors. A special thanks goes to EBA member Morris Taylor, who received a recognition award from the local Mason’s lodge thanking him for his contributions to the Ector Community.
