Bonham, Texas – Time and space are running out for Art Camp at the Creative Arts Center in Bonham.
Art Camp is for kids ages 4-10. The week-long art camp will be June 16-20, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day. Each day will be filled with arts, crafts, games, music and more. Cost is $200 for members and $250 for non-members. Scholarships are available, thanks to generous donors.
The center will also be hosting a fun dinner party called Margaritas & Music on Friday, June 13 from 6-8 p.m.
Guests will enjoy a delicious dinner with drinks and desserts, then listen to some beautiful music by the wildly talented Casandra Hashert inside the Main Gallery at the art center. Tickets are $40 per person. Spots are limited. Get tickets before noon on June 11 or before they sell out. Tickets are available on the center’s website or at the office. No tickets at the door.
Kidz Krew will be hosting open auditions for their next production on June 9 and 10. Alice in Wonderland: Rise of the Cards was written by Lisa Avila and will be directed by Kelly Baxter and Caleb Crocker. Kids ages 8 and up are invited to participate. A wide variety of art classes for all ages are also scheduled for the coming weeks.
Summer classes for kids ages 4-10 include Crayola Craft on June 12, Frog acrylic painting on June 28, Craft Time with Bonham State Park on July 10 and 24. Classes for youth ages 10 and up include Paint Your Pet on June 26 and a Tie Dye Party on June 18.
JayeBella has two upcoming classes that include lunch and acrylic painting. Brush & Brunch will be on Tuesday, June 3 from 11 am to 3 pm. Masterpieces and Mimosas will be on Saturday, June 21 from 11 am to 3 pm.
Garden Charm workshops are an opportunity for participants to learn how to turn their old jewelry and trinkets into garden art. The next class is June 7 from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm, led by Michelle Haynes with Estella SheShop.
Brenda Magness will teach a class on making your own doorhanger on June 7 from 1-4 pm. John Willson is leading a basic drawing class on Thursday afternoons in June, from 1-3 pm.
Mixed Media and Music is a free class for adults that will be held on June 10 from 1-3 pm and June 12 from 6-8 pm. Tatiana Murray will be teaching an Oil Pastel class on June 13 from 11 am to 1:30 pm.
Sandy Barber will teach Groovy Jeans class on June 14 from 11 am to 3 pm and embroidery basics on June 26 from 6-8 pm. Barber will also teach a class in Canva basics on June 24.
The center will be hosting a Tie Dye Party on June 18 for all ages. The cost is $5 per shirt for members and $8 per shirt for non-members. Participants will bring their own shirt and the center will provide the rest.
Sip & Stitch is a free time for fiber artists to bring their current project and enjoy fellowship with others who like to crochet, knit, embroider and create other fiber arts. The next Sip & Stitch is set for June 19 from 6-8 pm. Likewise, Artist Get Togethers are free opportunity for artists of any medium to get together with other creative types and work on their current project. The next one is set for June 27 from 1-3 pm.
Junk Journal Club meets monthly and will meet again on June 25 from 2-4 pm. This class is free for members and $5 for non-members.
The center offers weekly yoga classes. Kristi Dunbar teaches yoga on Tuesdays at 6 pm. Domanique Allen teaches chair yoga on Wednesdays at 1 pm. Beginners are welcome. Classes cost $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
