Experience family fun downtown and at Towne Lake Park

McKinney, Texas – The City of McKinney is proud to invite residents and visitors to its annual Red, White and BOOM! Independence Day celebration on Monday, July 4, featuring a full day of hometown fun and a breathtaking fireworks show at a new lakeside location.

Classic Americana returns to Downtown McKinney with a hometown parade at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Yankee Doodle block party at 11 a.m. Families are encouraged to explore the many dining and shopping options the Historic Downtown Cultural District offers. View a parking map and other parking information

This year, the city’s grand fireworks finale will be launched over the beautiful Towne Lake, offering picturesque setting for families to celebrate together. With calm waters and mature trees, Towne Lake Park is an ideal viewing area to watch the sky light up with fireworks.

Live music, food, and kids’ activities begin at 6:00 p.m. Activities and parking are free and open to the public. At Towne Lake, follow signage and staff guidance to designated parking areas. Carpooling is encouraged.
