McKinney, Texas (June 18, 2025) – McKinney residents affirmed their satisfaction with city services and quality of life in the latest citizen survey, with strong ratings that place the city above national benchmarks in several key areas. The survey, conducted earlier this year, highlights McKinney’s continued success in building a vibrant, safe, and inclusive community.
“The City Council and staff are focused on creating an exceptional community for our residents,” said CoCo Good, Chief Communications and Marketing Officer. “We are proud that residents recognize and appreciate our efforts in areas that directly affect their daily lives.”
The survey showed higher-than-average ratings for McKinney in the following categories:
- Crime prevention
- Vibrancy of the downtown and commercial area
- Overall image and reputation of the city
- Economic development
- Variety of business and service establishments
- Shopping opportunities
- Well-designed neighborhoods
- Valuing and respecting residents from diverse backgrounds
- Attracting people from diverse backgrounds
- Availability of preventive health services
- Access to affordable, quality mental health care
- Access to affordable, quality childcare and preschools
- Resident expectations for economic impact on family income
Residents also gave high marks for the city’s public safety services, with 91% of respondents rating fire services as excellent or good, and 89% doing the same for police and emergency medical services. These scores reflect the city’s commitment to fostering a secure and responsive environment for all residents.
The 2025 citizen survey is part of The National Community Survey™, a collaborative effort between National Research Center Inc. and Polco, a civic communication and analytics platform. The survey and its administration are standardized to ensure high-quality research methods and directly comparable results across The National Community Survey™ communities.
