Bonham, Texas -- Ariel Anne Hartwell was born at 12:31 a.m. on March 17, 2010, at Medical Center in Lewisville to Beth Anne Hartwell and Christopher Wayne Hartwell. She passed away far too soon on June 12, 2025.

Ariel had just completed her freshman year at Wakeland High School in Frisco, Texas, where she was a straight-A student and a shining example of excellence in everything she pursued. Beautiful inside and out, Ariel was known for her intelligence, compassion, humor, and determination. She had a radiant spirit and a heart that embraced everyone around her.

A gifted artist and singer, Ariel found joy in music and creativity. Her passion for athletics was equally extraordinary. Introduced to soccer at the age of six, she went on to play multiple organizations including the Dallas Texans, earning the nickname “Beast” for her fierce performance as a forward, wing, midfielder, and even goalie. Ariel also made her mark in cross country and track and field—earning a 5th place finish at the state level in cross country as a freshman on the Varsity Elite team, and qualifying for district in the 300m hurdles and Area in pole vault as part of the Varsity track team.

Ariel’s joy in life extended beyond school and sports. She loved traveling, the beach, amusement parks, and spending time with those she cherished. Her laughter, smile, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Ariel is survived by her mother, Beth Anne Lang, and stepfather, Gregory Xavier Lang; her stepsisters, Naima and Julissa Lang; her grandparents, John and Nelda Holt of Alachua, Florida; and her aunt and uncle, Mary and Robert Clark, and cousins Brice and Zane Clark. She is also survived by her father, Christopher Wayne Hartwell; grandmother Martha Kaye Feagan; grandfather Waymon John Hartwell; the extended Hartwell family; and her beloved dogs, Arfy and Twix.

Ariel Anne Hartwell was a light in this world, and though that light has dimmed far too early, it will shine on forever in the hearts of all who loved her. “We love you always and forever to eternity!”

Services will be held at Grace Avenue Methodist Church in Frisco, Texas, on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial at Arledge Ridge Cemetery in Bonham, Texas, at 2:30 p.m.
