Fannin County, Texas -- Criminal District Attorney John Skotnik reports that the June 26, 2025, Fannin County Grand Jury returned a sealed indictment against Krystal Kay Wilson, 31, of Bonham for Theft Over $150K Less Than $300K by Public Servant.
The charges stem from a Texas Ranger investigation initiated by the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office in May upon discovering that cash funds deposited into kiosks intended for inmate commissary accounts was missing. The investigation revealed that more than approximately $230,000 of cash deposits were missing between 2021 and 2025 while under the sole control of administrative assistant Krystal Wilson.
In her subsequent interview with law enforcement, Wilson made admissions to embezzling money for her personal use and was terminated from her position with the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office.
Wilson was arrested on June 30, 2025, and booked into the Collin County Jail with a bond set at $500,000.
It is important to note that an indictment is a formal charge and should not be considered as evidence of guilt and that all persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
